Who is the Holy Spirit?

The Holy Spirit:

• The voice of God in You to speak the truth about who you are and what you have in Christ. 1 Cor 2:13 When we tell you these things, we do not use words that come from human wisdom. Instead, we speak words given to us by the Spirit, using the Spirit’s words to explain spiritual truths.

• The water of God in you to drench the dry places and bring life. John 7:38 Whoever believes in Me, as the Scripture has said: ‘Streams of living water will flow from within him.’” 39 He was speaking about the Spirit, whom those who believed in Him were later to receive.

• The Teacher in you to teach you all things. 1 John 2:27 But you have received the Holy Spirit, and he lives within you, so you don’t need anyone to teach you what is true. For the Spirit teaches you everything you need to know, and what he teaches is true—it is not a lie.

• The seed of God in you that causes you to produce fruit. Gal 5:22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness, and self-control.

• The power of God in you to give you the ability to do what Jesus did. John 14:12 Truly, truly, I tell you, whoever believes in Me will also do the works that I am doing. He will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father.

• The Counselor in you to help you in times of need. John 14:26 But the Counselor, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all that I have said to you.

• The Advocate in you to tell you what to say in any moment. Luke 12:12 The Holy Spirit will give you the words to say at the moment when you need them.

• The memory in you to bring to your remembrance what you need to remember. John 14:26

• The prophet in you to tell you about things to come. John 16:13 When the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all truth. He will not speak on his own but will tell you what he has heard. He will tell you about the future.

• The Revealer in you to reveal mysteries that the natural man can never see or hear. 1 Cor 2:10 New Living Translation But it was to us that God revealed these things by his Spirit. For his Spirit searches out everything and shows us God’s deep secrets.

• The leader in you to guide you. John 16:13 But when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into all the truth.

• The Breath in you to make alive your spirit and body. Job 33:4 For the Spirit of God has made me, and the breath of the Almighty gives me life. Romans 8:10 But if Christ is in you, your body is dead because of sin, yet your spirit is alive because of righteousness. 11And if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead is living in you, He who raised Christ Jesus from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit, who lives in you.

• The Warrior in you to make you free in every area. 2 Cor 3:17 Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.

• The Mind of Christ in you (which is wisdom). 1 Cor 2:15 Those who are spiritual can evaluate all things, but they themselves cannot be evaluated by others. 16 For, “Who can know the Lord’s thoughts? Who knows enough to teach him?”But we understand these things, for we have the mind of Christ.
