Luke 10:19 New Living Translation Look, I have given you authority over all the power of the enemy, and you can walk among snakes and scorpions and crush them. Nothing will injure you.
The scorpions and snakes are demonic spirits. We have authority over them and should utilize our authority to defeat them.
Satan uses accusations against God and spiritual leaders to poison your spirit so you won’t hear what the spirit is saying to you to help get you out of your mess. Satan uses discord to separate. Notice when a plant separates from its life source it gets dry, darker, and dies.
The first two things that happen before the death of plants are they get dry and then they get darker.
The signs of a dying Christian are dryness and darkness. Poison is designed to kill you. You don’t die immediately but you are getting dryer and darker by the year.
You have to take authority over dryness and darkness by rebuking poison!
Scorpions and snakes both can be found in dark and dry places. Spiritually speaking when a Christian is dry and dark they are surrounded by spiritual wickedness in high places. They have opened the door to the enemy. One way to do that is through anger.
So stop telling lies. Let us tell our neighbors the truth, for we are all parts of the same body. And “don’t sin by letting anger control you.” Don’t let the sun go down while you are still angry, for anger gives a foothold to the devil.” Ephesians 4:25-27 NLT
We open the door to Satan. It's us who gives him an opportunity to run rapid in our lives. We must fight back and do what's right to keep the door closed to the enemy. People want God to fight for them or take them out of the fight, but He is not going to take you out of the fight but He will teach you HOW to fight.
Eph. 6:12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
2 Cor. 10:4 The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds.
If God was going to fight all of our battles we would not have weapons and an armor. We also wouldn't be wrestling, fighting, or resisting. It's time for you to get up and fight the dryness and dark places in your life. Don't settle for it. Fight!
Laziness is dryness
Procrastination is dryness
That overwhelming feeling of not wanting to do what it takes to be wealthy and healthy is dryness.
Satan is using demons to get people in these dry and dark places. He will get them dry and then blame their dryness on their church. No, your dry because YOU won't fight back. YOU'RE lazy and worldly.
A dark place is a place of sin, shame, guilt, revenge, bitterness, fights, and depression. Satan wants you in a dark place so you can never see the light. He doesn’t want you to receive and understand revelation which is the light or illumination of God’s Word. He doesn't want you to SEE what your pastor is SAYING. He wants you to fight against revelation knowledge and get offended.
When you come into gatherings like ours and hear the kind of Word that changes lives, and it doesn’t move you into action, you are dry or in a dark place.
We are the body of Christ and Christ is the head. Satan is after the head. He goes after the body. As the old saying says, “Kill the body, and the head will die”. This is why Jesus gave the church the same power, authority, strategy, and weapons HE has to defeat the devil.
You are fighting a defeated enemy but if you think from a place of defeat it is possible for someone who is defeated to whip you.
If Satan can get you over into a place of fear, anger, anxiety, feelings, offense, strife, jealousy, hatred, worry, questioning Gods ways in a negative manner, and consistent sin then he can get you to self-sabotage.
“So stop telling lies. Let us tell our neighbors the truth, for we are all parts of the same body. And “don’t sin by letting anger control you.” Don’t let the sun go down while you are still angry, for anger gives a foothold to the devil.”
Ephesians 4:25-27 NLT
“Get rid of all bitterness, rage, anger, harsh words, and slander, as well as all types of evil behavior. Instead, be kind to each other, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, just as God through Christ has forgiven you.”
Ephesians 4:31-32 NLT
