Fight For What Belongs to You!

There were two warring tribes in the Andes, one that lived in the lowlands and the other high in the mountains. The mountain people invaded the lowlanders one day, and as part of their plundering of the people, they kid-napped a baby and took the infant with them back up into the mountains.

Although the lowlanders didn’t know how to climb the mountain, they sent out their best party of fighting men to bring the baby home. They first tried one method of climbing and then another. They tried one trail and then another. After climbing only a few hundred feet after several days of effort, the lowlander men decided that the cause was lost, and they prepared to return to their village below.

As they were packing their gear for the descent, they saw the baby’s mother-with the baby strapped to her back-coming down the mountain that they had been unable to climb. One man greeted her and said, “How did you climb this treacherous mountain when we, the strongest and ablest men in the village, couldn’t do it?” she shrugged her shoulders and said, “It wasn’t your baby.”

Extraordinary or exceptional people will fight for what belongs to them. Their mentality is to never give up. One sure way to fail is to give up. They will conquer mountains to get their babies back.

What is your baby? What is your uniqueness? What makes you outstanding? What is your purpose? What is the thing that you will conquer mountains for? You will let it die or be stolen if you can’t identify it, pin-point what it is, or be focused and disciplined enough to make it top priority.

I have pin-pointed my babies. I fight for what God has entrusted into my hands. I’m extremely focused and will not let anyone destroy what God has given me.

There are some things I will let get away from me because those things aren’t my purpose. I can do them, but it’s not what I’m called to do. I don’t put all my attention, focus, resources, and energy into things that I’m not assigned to do. I can play the drums, but for me, drums are just a hobby, not a calling or assignment. You have to know what to minimize out of your life in order to maximize on the things that really matter.

Exceptional people understand that other people will not have the same fortitude to go after the baby because it’s not their baby.

If it’s going to get done, it’s up to your investments, sacrifices, passions, wise decisions, wise delegation to others, and drive.

Don’t leave your future up to other people. Take control of your life by obeying the will of God. Do it in a remarkable way. Be remembered. Leave a legacy!
